Reports have been received that Bahamas flag vessel HELIOS RAY (71,177gt, built 2015) suffered an explosion on board yesterday whilst off the coast of Oman.
No injuries to crew members have been reported. An investigation is underway.
Prior to the explosion, HELIOS RAY, a vehicle carrier, had sailed from Damman the previous day. Before that the vessel had called in Bahrain, Qatar and UAE.
