Reports have been received that Vietnamese flag vessel PHUC KHANH (6,701gt, built 2004) experienced a blackout and went adrift on the Saigon River today.

The drifting vessel came in contact with a tower crane. The crane broke and fell on the containers on board the ship. Four containers reportedly fell into the river. Others were damaged.

PHUC KHANH had sailed from Ho Chi Minh City on 20 February destined for Haiphong.
