Reports have been received that Madeiran flag vessel MINNA (35,881gt, built 2005) ran aground whilst leaving the port of Beira on 26 May 2020.
The containership, which trades between ports in East Africa, Indian Ocean and Far East, is reportedly still aground.
Professional salvors T&T Salvage have been employed to attempt to refloat the vessel. General Average has been declared.
Before the cargo can be delivered, it is likely that cargo insurers will be asked to provide a salvage guarantee. General Average security will also be required.
