Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel MELBOURNE (40,030gt, built 2002) became disabled off Cape Town last week and was taken in tow by tug SA AMANDLA.
The bulk carrier, which sailed from Paranagua on 6th July 2019 destined for Fujairah, is understood to remain berthed at Cape Town at this time.
It is possible that claims for general average and/or salvage mar arise as a result of this incident.
