Reports have been received that Turkish flag vessel ICDAS-5 (11,379gt, built 2019) suffered a fire in a cargo hold during cargo discharge operations at Ambarli earlier today.
Initial fire extinguishing operations were undertaken by the crew, together with the local emergency services.
No injuries have been reported. Structural damage was observed in the cargo compartment. More detailed technical inspections will be carried out by class surveyor, together with Owners’ representatives.
The vessel remains stationary at Ambarli port. Previously ICDAS-5 had called at Iskenderun and Klaipeda.
