Reports have been received that Hong Kong flag vessel SOLOMON TRADER (38,779gt, built 1994) ran aground off Kangava Bay, Solomon Islands on 5th February.
The bulk carrier reportedly hit a reef, possibly as a result of heavy seas and high winds.
Prior to the accident, SOLOMON TRADER had called at Rennell Island and Longkou. She sailed from Longkou on 12 January 2019.
