Reports have been received that Cook Islands flag vessel (5,624gt, built 1995) lost a large amount of her deck cargo of timber in the North Sea yesterday.
The incident was reported to the Netherlands Coast Guard, at 2316 hrs UTC on 29th January 2019.
The spilled cargo has left a large amount of floating timber, reportedly around 6 miles long and 3 miles wide. Vessels to help clear the floating timber are on their way.
