Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel AZUL VICTORIA (104,728gt, built 2006) is currently being towed to Cape Town as a port of refuge.
The bulker, which sailed form Fukuyama on 23rd October 2017 destined for Brazil, reported taking on water on 24th November.
Tug APL IPPON is assisting the vessel. This incident may give rise to salvage and general average claims against the owners/insurers of the cargo.
