Reports have been received that Comoros flag vessel MONA (3,147gt, built 1986) sank on 25th August 2017 whilst berthed at Port Khalid.
Three injuries were reported following the incident. The containership, which had arrived in Sharjah the previous day, reportedly developed a list and capsized.
MONA traded between various ports in the UAE. She may also have been transhipment cargoes from elsewhere.
