Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel DZ QINGDAO (27,763gt, built 1996) was in collision with Maltese flag vessel GORTYNIA (93,297gt, built 2015) in the Singapore Straits on 17th May 2017.
Both vessels, bulk carriers, reportedly suffered serious damage and have anchored off Singapore.
GORTYNIA, carrying iron ore, is on a voyage from Saldanha Bay to Singapore. DZ QINGDAO is on a voyage from Tianjin to Port Klang.
