Reports have been received that Bahamas flag vessel ANASTASIA K (42,868gt, built 2011) ran aground on the Parana River near Rosario on 3rd April 2017.
The bulker has on board a cargo of around 28,000mt of maize and was due to complete loading at Bahia Blanca.
The vessel’s owners have signed an LOF salvage contract with Tsavliris Salvage. It is likely that the insurers of the cargo on board will be required to provide salvage security before the cargo can be delivered.
It is also likely that general average will be declared.
