Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel MSC DANIELA (151,559gt, built 2008) suffered a cargo fire on board yesterday whilst off Colombo.
A total of six vessels were sent to the scene to fight the fire. No injuries were reported to the 22 crew on board.
The full extent of cargo damage is not yet known. MSC DANIELA trades between ports in the Frat East and Mediterranean.
She is on a west bound voyage having called at Singapore and various Chinese ports prior to the fire.
