Reports have been received that Turkish flag vessel EFENDI BABA (4,984gt, built 1994) suffered an engine break down on her current voyage from Mariupol to Bilbao.
The general cargo vessel was assisted by professional salvors Tsavliris Salvage and has been towed to Malaga, arriving 9th February 2017, where she remains as of today.
EFENDI BABA is carrying a cargo of hot rolled steel plates. Security will have to be provided to Salvors before the cargo can be delivered. It is also likely that General Average will be declared.
