Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel GLOBAL URANUS (7,745gt, built 2010) ran aground on 5th February 2017 off Bitung.
The chemical tanker remains aground as of today. A salvage company has been contracted to provide assistance.
GLOBAL URANUS is on a voyage from Yizheng to Bitung. No injuries or pollution have been reported.
