Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel STAR HARMONY (29,372gt built 2005) ran aground in the Istanbul strait today.
The vessel is en route from Odessa to El Dekhelia, in a laden condition with 47.300 tonnes of corn in bulk
Coastal safety tugs Kurtarma-3, Kurtarma-6 and fast rescue boats along with the technical team immediately attended the scene in order to provide further assistance for vessel and strait traffic safety.
The incident scene is temporarily closed to any kind of marine traffic by strait authority. The incident file has been opened by the Harbour Master.
