Reports have been received that Maltese flag vessel KHOSROV BEY (4,109gt, built 2007) suffered an engine failure on 5th March after sailing from Berdyansk, Ukraine.
The general cargo vessel has been taken in tow by tug SOCAR. The convoy is expected to reach Tuzla, as a port of refuge, later today.
KHOSROV BEY is on a voyage to Chalkis, Greece.
It is possible that the cargo owners/insurers will have to pay salvage costs. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
