Reports have been received that Indonesian flag vessel LINTAS BELAWAN (5,806gt, built 2006) suffered a major fire on board whilst off Masalembo Islands on yesterday.
As a result the vessel’s crew of nineteen had to be rescued from the vessel. No injuries were reported.
LINTAS BELAWAN is on a voyage from Jakarta to Makassar. It is not yet clear how or if that voyage can be completed.
