Date: 12tn November 2015 Type: Engine Damage and Salvage Voyage: Chile to China
Reports have been received that Bahamas flag vessel ANEMONE (19,918gt, built 2007) began to experience engine problems on 12 November whilst 600 miles off the coast of Japan.
The bulk carrier has been taken in tow by salvage tug KOYO MARU. An LOF Salvage contract has been signed with Five Oceans Salvage.
Before the cargo can be delivered, it will be necessary for the cargo owners/insurers to place salvage security. The LOF salvage contract allows Salvors to demand security acceptable to the Council of Lloyd’s. This can be arranged by Dolphin Maritime.
It is also likely that General Average will be declared.
We understand ANEMONE is on a voyage from Tocopilla, Chile to Bayaquan, China.
