Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel AMBER L. (25,955gt, built 2000) suffered mechanical problems whilst 560 miles south east of Sri Lanka on 12 July 2015.
The bulker has been taken in tow by tug TSAVLIRIS UNITY towards Galle. The vessel is on a voyage from West African ports to Xingang, China
As a result of this incident it is possible that general average and/or salvage claims could be made against cargo insurers.
