Reports have been received that Singapore flag vessel ALAM MANIS (31,238gt, built 2007) ran aground on Friday off Candon.
One crew member is reported to have lost his life. The remaining crew members were rescued after a tug was sent to assist the casualty.
The vessel reportedly ran aground and developed a 20 degree list after being battered by heavy seas and rain. Her cargo of nickel ore, for Surigao, is wet.
