Reports have been received that Greek flag vessel NAVIOS KYPROS (31,169gt, built 2003) is currently receiving salvage assistance in the North Pacific following engine problems.
The vessel is on a voyage from China to South and Central American ports. She has on board cargoes of steel products and chemicals.
Salvage assistance is being provided by Tsavliris Salvage on the terms of an LOF contract. The insurers of the cargo on board will be asked to provide salvage security on terms acceptable to Salvors before the cargo can be delivered.
It is also likely that General Average will be declared.
