Further to our earlier Casualty Report, we are now advised that Shipowners have declared General Average.
General Average security will be requested from cargo insurers before the cargoes can be delivered.

Reports have been received that Hong Kong flag vessel MAERSK LONDRINA (89,505gt, built 2012) suffered a fire in one of her cargo holds on 25th April 2015.
At the time the vessel was around 600 miles from Port Louis. Her last port of call was Tanjung Pelepas, from where she sailed on 18th April. She is destined for ports in Brazil.
It is likely that the vessel will be carrying cargoes to and from other countries as well.
MAERSK LONDRINA is now proceeding towards Port Louis, we understand as a port of refuge. Two other merchant vessels are following.
