Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel BETTER TRANS (5,185gt built 1997) capsized yesterday in the Philippines Sea approximately 400 miles east of Taiwan.
The crew abandoned the vessel and eighteen were reportedly picked up. One crew member is reported missing.
The vessel was on a voyage from Davao for China when a distress signal was sent yesterday.
