Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel UBT FJORD (6149gt, built2008) suffered engine problems in the Java Sea on December 15th and is now under tow.
Towage was reported in lat 03 14 47.52S, long 109 38 7.7E as of 1150, today, speed 4.2 knots. The vessel’s last reported port of call was Gresik from where she sailed 10th December 2014.
It is possible that claims of General Average and Salvage may arise as a result of this incident.
