Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel ELINAKOS (38,364gt, built 1997) suffered propulsion problems after leaving Longview, Washington on 26th May.
The bulk carrier, on a voyage to Vietnam with a cargo of corn, ran aground as a result. The vessel has returned to Longview for inspection and repair.
It is possible that General Average may be declared as a result of this incident.
