Reports have been received that Malta flag vessel LIGARI (38851gt, built2004) recently collided with another vessel just off Pusan, South Korea.
As a result, LIGARI required salvage services and professional Salvors, Tsavliris Salvage, have been contracted on Lloyd’s Open Form terms.
Salvage security will be required from cargo insurers before the cargo can be delivered. It is also likely that General Average will be declared.
The vessel is on a voyage from Washington, USA to Rizhao/ Longkou in China. She has on board a cargo of 65,680mt of corn.
The cargo was shipped by Nidera U.S. LLC and is consigned to Shandong New Hope Liuhe Group co Ltd of Qingdao.
