Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel STEINTOR (16,850gt, built 2000) suffered engine damage off Shanghai on 8th December 2013
As a result, the vessel had to be towed back to Shanghai (where she had loaded cargoes) to be repaired.
The vessel’s owners have declared General Average as a result of this incident. Average guarantees must be provided by cargo insurers before the cargo can be delivered.
