Reports have been received that St Kitts-Nevis flag vessel GS GRAND (7,916gt built 1991) is under tow of salvage tug D YONG towards Vietnam.
The tanker suffered mechanical problems on 12th December 2013 and required assistance. The convoy is proceeding to Vietnam and is expected at Ho Chi Ming City on 18th December.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
