Reports have been received that Antigua flag vessel SIRIUS (5,281gt built 2001) has been towed into port following an engine problem.
The bulk carrier sailed from Mariupol for Brest on 5th March. Yesterday tug DONA INDA was despatched following a request for assistance and towed the casualty into Vigo.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
