Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel AQUAFORTUNE (91,200gt built 2011) ran aground yesterday off Eren Port.
The bulk carrier, with a cargo of coal on board is still aground today. Local authorities and Owners’ representatives are attending the scene.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
