Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel BSLE SUNRISE (5,988gt built 1992) ran aground off Sidi Saler Beach yesterday.
The vessel is on a voyage from Turkey to Spain. She sailed from Mersin on 22nd September. Salvage tugs are proceeding to render assistance to the vessel.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
