Reports have been received that Curacao flag vessel MARKBORG (6540gt built1997) experienced an engine failure yesterday.
The vessel has been towed into Laurens Port in Botlek and is now docked at the EBS European Bulk Services terminal.
MARKBORG had sailed from Turkey on 16th August 2012 and arrived at Antwerp on 29th August 2012.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
