Reports have been received that Hong Kong flag vessel OCEAN BREEZE (30067gt built 2006) has run aground just off San Antonio in Chile.
Heavy swells caused the vessel to go adrift and wash up onto the beach. 24 crew members were on board the bulk carrier and were all rescued from the vessel by helicopter.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
