Reports have been received that Bangladesh flag vessel MIGHTY ROYAL (22,064gt built 1986) ran aground off Japan on 7th July.
The vessel has refloated but is anchored at Niihama. We understand that water ingress into ballast tanks has been reported.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
