Reports have been received that Hong Kong flag vessel COS JOY (39,795gt built 2001) is/was adrift in the South Atlantic.
We believe towage has been arranged and the vessel may be at Recife. The bulk carrier is on a voyage to Pecem from China from where she sailed on 18th may 2012.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
