Reports have been received that Antiguan flag vessel ALTELAND (5999gt built 1991) has run aground north of Hallstavik.
We no oil pollution has been reported but we understand that the vessel is hard aground. ALTELAND is on a voyage from Hallstavik to Lubeck carrying paper reels.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
