Reports have been received that Gibralter flag vessel ARA FELIXSTOWE (3818gt built1991) has suffered a fire in her engine room today.
The general cargo ship has been abandoned by hew crew and been rescued. The ship is carrying a cargo of steel from Brake to Southampton.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
