Reports have been received that Singapore flag vessel DRY BEAM (26,402gt built2005) has deviated under escort into Victoria, Canada after encountering heavy seas.
The bulk carrier was on a voyage from Longview to Kashima with a cargo of timber. Part of the cargo was lost overboard.
As well as the loss of cargo, it is possible that cargo insurers will face a claim for General Average contributions.
