Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel FU HENG STAR (4,403gt built 1980) suffered a fire on board and is currently awaiting towage to a safe anchorage.
The general cargo vessel is on a voyage from Vietnam to Xinhui. She has on board a cargo of 6,443 of coal. No injuries have been reported.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
