Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel BONAFIDE (90,392gt built 1997) has run aground off Dumaran Island, Philippines.
Profession Salvors Svitzer have been engaged to refloat the vessel with the assistance of local Salvors. The ship is aground on a coral reef.
The vessel is carrying a cargo of iron ore from Port Walcott in Australia. We understand that the cargo is destined for discharge in Xingang, China.
It is likely that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
Salvage security will be required on a form acceptable to the Council of Lloyd’s. Dolphin Maritime’s salvage guarantees are accepted.
We can, if required, provide salvage security on your behalf (subject to internal procedures) for a bail fee from 0.75% of the guarantee amount.
