Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel GUODING 1 (19,349gt built 2011) has suffered an engine failure and is drifting south of Kiska Islands.
The tanker is en route from China to Grays Harbour. It is understood that a tug is en route and is expected to arrive in around one week.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
