Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel BULK TRADER (23,594gt built 1984) has been towed into Babola following an engine room fire.
The bulk carrier was on a voyage from Altamira to Puerto Ordaz when the fire broke out. She was assisted by tug VB Corsario.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
