Reports have been received that Jamaican flag vessel CFS PAMPLONA (6434gt built 2004) was towed into San Juan yesterday with engine problems.
The vessel operates on a feeder services between Colombia, Panama, Dominican Republic and Jamaica. She is likely to be carrying transhipment cargoes.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
