Reports have been received that Maltese flag vessel HITRA (3997gt built 2009) suffered mechanical problems yesterday and has diverted to Karystos.
The tanker is on a voyage from Aliaga to Genoa. It is understood that the vessel was able to proceed to the Greek port under her own power.
It is also possible that general average will be declared as a result of this incident.
