Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel KALISTI (16368gt built 1981) received salvage services from Tsavliris Salvage earlier this month.
The bulk carrier is understood to have a cargo of sugar on board. She was reported in position lat 22 33S long 51 52E with restricted manoeuvrability.
It is likely that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
