Reports have been received that Antiguan flag vessel MCL TUNIS (4489gt built 1996) has been towed into Brest following an engine breakdown.
The vessel was on a voyage from Oran to Blyth when she reported damage to two cylinders. Tug ABEILLE BOURBON was contracted to tow the vessel to Brest where repairs are underway.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
