Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel BOHAI CHALLENGE (8708gt built 2007) has grounded off Kanazawa Port.
The 18 crew of the general cargo vessel have been evacuated. There is engine damage and oil pollution. BOHAI CHALLENGE had sailed from Dalian on 26th January.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
