Reports have been received that the Singapore flag WISDOM, 9367 GRT 1985 built, has suffered an engine breakdown and was towed to a port of refuge. Cargo is being transhipped and General Average is declared.
We are representing part of the cargo on board this vessel.
- INITIAL REPORT ***
We write to advise that Singapore flag vessel WISDOM (9367gt built 1985) has recently been towed into Colombo as a port of refuge following a crankshaft explosion.
The vessel has on board a cargo of 6095mt of logs loaded at Yangon and which is destined for discharge at Mangalore. Dolphin Maritime represents the insurers of part of that cargo.
The owners of the vessel have declared General Average and appointed Marine Claims Office in Singapore as Average Adjusters. We are in contact with them.
Before the cargo can be delivered the cargo owners will need to provide average bonds and the cargo insurers will need to provide average guarantees.
