Reports have been received that Maltese flag vessel SALTINA (5087gt built 2008) has been towed into Pasajes after she suffered engine problems in the North Atlantic.
The bulk carrier, from Georgetown, was taken in tow by Tsavliris Salvage tug TSAVLIRIS HELLAS and arrived in Spain earlier this week.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
