Reports have been received that Chinese flag vessel HUAN LE HAI (36080gt built 1990) ran aground on the Parana River on 8th August 2010.
The bulk carrier, with a cargo of soya beans on board, is receiving salvage assistance and it is understood that tugs are in attendance.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
